I am employed!
At the end of October 2011, I lost my job due to having a seizure… or migraine…or…something neurological anyway disorder. Five long months of fighting later, I am better enough to have found a job that accommodates my physical limitations (still fairly extensive) and will pay me enough to survive while I continue to hunt for a job that could become a career in case the Carrie Bradshaw route doesn’t quite work out right.
April 3rd, I’ll start training at an inbound call center, learning the ins and outs of helping customers of a large company resolve any issues they may have. April 4th, I need to “move out” of where I’m staying (a previously agreed upon deadline, as the friend I’m crashing with wants her space to herself again). So, looks like I now have an area of the city to look in as far as finding a space to actually rent and call “home” for a while!
And still, I dream of supporting myself and a wife and children on the power of my pen alone, and to that end I write and write and write. That will not go away. Nor will this blog. I will continue to keep a record of my adventures learning to survive in the city, learning to grow into being a young adult in a city, when before I was a child in the country.
But before the end of next month, I will no longer be homeless, guys. I am clawing my way up into stability, little by little. And there’s your update.
HOORAY!! celebrate your power to survive
